Senior Controller Europe

Our client is a leading international player in the food ingredients industry, active in trading and production. The organization is innovative, entrepreneurial, and strongly committed to excellence and sustainability.

For its European operations, we are seeking a Senior Financial Controller Europe – a hands-on leader and trusted right hand to the CFO, responsible for financial control, accounting, and reporting across a business with approximately €1 billion in annual revenue.

In this role, you are responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and high-quality financial information for both internal and external stakeholders. You lead the period-end close process, including statutory financial statements, and drive continuous improvement in financial controls, systems, and processes.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing monthly, annual, and statutory P&L statements, balance sheets, and financial reports;
• Leading the year-end close process and supporting external audits;
• Coordinating budgeting and forecasting cycles and supporting performance management;
• Managing the general ledger, chart of accounts, trial balance, accruals, provisions, and fixed assets;
• Ensuring accurate reconciliations of payroll, intercompany balances, suspense accounts, and balance sheet items;
• Delivering timely financial reporting, analysis, and management information to senior stakeholders;
• Ensuring compliance with statutory reporting requirements, tax filings, and supporting transfer pricing documentation;
• Developing and enhancing financial controls, accounting policies, and administrative processes;
• Leading, coaching, and developing local finance staff and overseeing the General Ledger shared service team.

This is a broad and high-responsibility position as the right hand of the Regional CFO, covering all aspects of Financial Control.

You are a strong communicator across all levels of the organization, demonstrate high ownership, and are driven by operational excellence in people, systems, and processes. You bring structure, a hands-on mindset, and thrive in a dynamic international environment.

Requirements:

• Degree in Finance, Business Economics, or Accounting;
• Proven experience in financial accounting and reporting up to statutory financial statements;
• Advanced ERP skills (preferably SAP) and strong proficiency in Excel and BI tools;
• Experience in a complex, international, multi-entity environment.
