Business Controller

For the HQ of the Commercial Unit Northern Europe (Benelux, UK, Nordics and Baltics) based in Leusden (near Amersfoort) we are looking to recruit an energetic Business Controller to join the Finance team and act as the Business Partner for both sales and area management within the commercial unit Northern Europe.

You will be the financial co-pilot to our Sales & Marketing teams, providing the critical insights and strategic advice that drive our commercial success. You'll challenge assumptions, identify growth opportunities, and ensure our financial processes are rock-solid. • Strategic Business Partnership:
  • Act as the primary financial sparring partner for the Sales & Marketing (S&M) team and the CEO and CFO, translating complex financial data into actionable business strategies.
  • Confidently challenge the business and play the "devil's advocate" to ensure robust decision-making on pricing, rebates, and profitability.
• Reporting & Financial Planning:
  • Own the management reporting process, delivering accurate and timely insights that empower leadership to act decisively.
  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting cycles for ADAMA Northern Europe, ensuring alignment with our global and local commercial strategy.
• Develop sophisticated financial models to support business plans, analyze regional P&Ls, and set up, develop and monitor KPI-dashboards
• Controls & Process Optimization:
  • Oversee core financial processes, including order-to-cash and month-end close, in close collaboration with internal stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain robust internal controls for commercial activities, such as the customer rebate system and price lists.
  • Continuously optimize and harmonize administrative and financial processes, working with European/Global finance teams to improve efficiency.
• Systems & Audits:
  • Manage our management reporting software (Power BI), ensuring it is optimized and integrated with our financial systems (e.g., SAP Business One).

• Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in a relevant role such as Business Controlling, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), or a similar position.
• Education: A Masters degree (MSc) or higher in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proven expertise in Business Intelligence tools, particularly Power BI.
  • Strong experience with ERP software (experience with SAP Business One is an advantage).
  • Proven track record in process automation.
• Languages: Fluency in English is required.
• Soft Skills:
  • An analytical and creative mindset with problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to advise and influence senior business partners.
  • Organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines.
  • A proactive team player with a passion for achieving results.
